Positioning of 3D-models

in rendered images

2007-10-10Author: GRML
Hi again, Vlasta!
It is a little unintuitive to position the model in a rendered image. Could you please give me some hints on where to click and how to move the model right?
Thanks a lot! :-)

The lower 3D view is used to set the camera. A short info on camera movement is displayed, when the lightbulb icon in the toolbar above the lower 3D view is clicked.

In general, dragging with left mouse button moves the object (though the speed of movement depends on where the object is in 3D space and on zoom).

Dragging with right mouse button may do different things and it depends on the Movement Mode (controlled from the toolbar). In Object Rotation mode, right-dragging rotates the object, in the other modes, it rotates the camera. In the Floating mode, the application tries to keep the Up vector parallel with Y+ axis with as much as possible.

The other buttons in the toolbar can be used to quickly return to original position or change view direction.

There are also keyboard controls, but they are not that much useful. Arrows, Q and E rotate the camera, W, S, A, D, X, and Space move it.

To move the model right, left click and drag (to the right) in the lower view) or press A key.
