Request: PAL and NTSC

Copy a picture collection optomized for display on a TV

2006-11-22Author: <unknown>
I can copy a number of photo folders to a data DVD, and then see them on most modern DVD players that display JPEGs.

However, viewing is slow as the DVD player resizes to the TV size.

Neat would be:
PhotoResizePAL4-3.exe
= Max 720 x Max 576 (the older 4:3 screen size)

PhotoResizePAL4-3B.exe (B = border, to allow for older TVs
= Max 640 x Max 512 not showing all the picture)

PhotoResizePAL16-9.exe
= Max 1024 x 576

PhotoResizeNTSC.exe .... ditto

Any photos smaller than the max would be left as is.
(Is it also necessary to define the 72 dpi?)

Having the full directory structure of the photos copied to a new directory structure would also be neat.

Thanks
Jim

Resizing to given maximum (non-rectangular) frame was already requested, and it will be added in next version. Though the TV-codes probably won't be used, you'll have to specify the number of pixels manually (for example PhotoResizeF720x576 - you can always create a shortcut and rename it to whatever you wish).

The copying of the directory structure is a bit complicated - I will think about it. There may be problems, because multiple files and directories may be processed at once.

really useful feature, I think it is good idea, by now, little software can do something like this.

good luck.

Both requests were added in version 2.0, which was released today :-).
