white spotty border on icons

2008-03-24Author: modu03
hi there, i have been creating icons, but most of them have a white uneven and spotty border around them. i am assuming that the program is not recognizing that this area should be transparent. is there a way that i can fix this problem. i have been trying to figure it out on my own, but this program isn;t very user friendly.

oops... nevermind i just needed to use a red background for the transparency instead of white.

I suppose you have used .jpg images as source for your icons. And the problem disappeared after manually filling the background with solid color. If this was the case, the explanation and solution is in the "Images with artifacts" section here: http://www.rw-designer.com/icon-png-image.
