Updates in the cursor library

Published by on September 8th.

The cursor part of the online graphics library has just been updated. The same improvements that were recently added to the icon section are now available here as well.

You can now upload several cursors at once, either by selecting multiple files in the upload window or by uploading a ZIP archive. In addition to the old CUR and ANI formats, the library now accepts PNG and SVG files. These will be converted into cursors (static CUR) automatically, and for these file types you can set the hot spot coordinates manually after uploading them. PNG and SVG files must be square images, with a maximum size of 256×256 pixels. For best results, I recommend 32, 48, or 64 pixels.

If this option is used and there is interest, support for animated PNG and GIF files may be added later. More cursor-related updates are on the way.

One more note: both the cursor and icon libraries now automatically fix file names containing characters that are not allowed in some operating systems (" ? * | < > / \). These characters are replaced with a dash (-). For example:

This change was needed so that all uploaded files can be downloaded without errors. File names already stored in the library have been fixed, so previously problematic files should now be downloadable.
