Are there any hotkeys?? i would like to use a hotkey for the "fit to window" option. i alway start with "256x256 smooth ege" and copy that image to all the sizes. so its like click ctrl+v rightclick click AND AGAIN, click ctrl+v ..and so on... pretty annoying. Or is there an option to copy one image to all the areas at the same time?

If you draw 256x256 image and then create the other icon formats, it would be better if you created an image instead of an icon and after completing it, clicked on Create icon from image. This will get you higher quality results. That fits your scenario.

If you already have an .ico file you can create a new icon from the currently selected image - there is a popup button near the list of images with Create new icon form selected image command.

I made an ICL file, added a bunch of PNGs to it, then saved it as FolderIcons.icl but whenever I try to change a folder's icon to my custom one, it says,"There are no icons in FolderIcons.icl". How can i fix this please help??? Im using windows 7.

Start regedit.exe, find your extension (including the .) under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, look at its default value and then find a key with the same name as the value had. Under this new key, find a "Default icon" key and change its default value to the path to the created .ico file.

It works perfectly, except when using the folder on a different PC, it reverts back to the standard folder icon. Why? Can it be set to work on different PC's?

Classic icon (.ico files) cannot be animated. If you want animated images, you'll need the cursor editor or the paint.

Are you asking what color bit depths are supported for .ico files? The usual 32, 8 and 4 bpp by default and also the mostly useless 24 and 1 bpp, but creating icons with those included will require extra clicks. The same applies to cursors.

How to use the refraction function with unicorn 3d?
I dont get a lens effect if i just set the refracion index to a higher value.
while creating a 3d model, will I see objects behind a semitransparent lens - shaped object with a high refraction index as magnified?
If not, how does it work?
Could you direct me to a tutorial which may help me, if such exists?

There is no tutorial related to refraction, but it should be enough to set the N1/N2 to something else than 1 (it may be also lower than one). The object should be transparent. And then be sure to use the raytracing renderer when converting the 3D scene to image. The refraction effect will not be visible while editing the 3D object.

I've created a couple of icons from images and the saved icons are not viewable in Windows Explorer when the view is set to thumbnail. Is this normal or have I missed something. Other icons that I've seen are viewable in Windows Explorer. Thanks for your response.

Sometimes, you may see the small version as thumbnail, but you should always see at least something for an .ico file.

That depends on the actual icon. If there is only a single color you need to replace, you can try the Flood fill tool. If you want to replace multiple hues or brightness values, you can try selecting the relevant parts using the various selection tools and running the Shift hue command on the selection.
