Nice. Maybe round the corners more. Alphabet icons seem popular right now...

Hey, a heads up, when I have time (Probably in a month or two as school finishes up) I plan on organizing an icon experiment. (See the cursor experiment here for an example of what I am talking about.)

Would you be interested in participating once that is started? If so, start getting some ideas for what you might like as the theme. I think we'll try to get a couple of ideas together from various people and then vote on which one we do.

absterninja (2011-04-04 02:13:20):

Ok, I'll check it out. Is, it something a kid can do because I'm not even 13 yet. :-o

JDDellGuy (2011-04-04 04:45:49):

Oh yeah. Basically, all it is is we get as many people as are interested to create an icon/cursor that matches a prticular theme. Example: Everybody has to make a round Microsoft Word icon, or in the case of the one we already did, everybody had to make a snowflake cursor.
Then we upload the icons/cursors into an anonymous set with the artist's names attatched to the one they made so that everybody can see the different styles that each person uses. It's not a contest- I call it an experiment because there are no winners or losers, we all just submit our best work that matches the required description.

It'll probably be at least a month or two beforew it starts, I'm just kinda trying to stir up some interest, because the cursor experiment only had about 5 entries. It still turned out cool, check it out at the link in my first post up there, it just would have been even better if more people had joined in.

Do you have any ideas for the theme? It can be a vague description, (Example: a green and black spiral themed icon), an object (Example: SixAxis was thinking Hubcaps), or an application (Example: a MS Word icon), or just about any other theme idea.

JDDellGuy (2011-04-04 04:48:48):

This is how the cursor experiment worked.

How about smiley icons? I like smiley faces. he he he :-D

absterninja (2011-04-06 03:40:46):

if not thats ok

whats a hubcap?

JDDellGuy (2011-04-06 06:39:35):

The "lid" that covers the lug nuts on a tire.
Like this picture here.

Smiley faces are actually a pretty good idea in my opinion. I'd like to collect a whole bunch of ideas and then we all vote on them for a week or so until one is decided upon. But it'll be a little while.

By the way, I happen to be working on some new Emoticon cursors that will contain larger images as well. Like my current set, but less pixelly in appearance.
