Observational Whimsy
"The Lonely Sock"
A sock escapes the laundry drum,
Hiding in the couch, quietly numb.
Its partner waits, the pair incomplete,
Silent in the dryer’s rhythmic beat.
"Ode to the Coffee Mug"
You cradle warmth in early dawn,
Holding dreams before they're gone.
White, chipped, or adorned with stripes,
You sip away my sleepy gripes.
Playful Free Verse
"Paperclip Parade"
Bend, twist, and loop again,
A tiny army of metal,
Holding secrets and letters,
Binding worlds in miniature.
"The Wandering Balloon"
Red balloon escapes the park,
Twisting high above the lark.
Children point and wave goodbye,
As clouds tickle the sky.
Surreal Musings
"The Clock's Whisper"
Time taps softly on walls unseen,
Whispering stories between the ticks.
It hums in coffee steams,
And drifts in the hum of city streets.
"Lost Buttons"
Buttons scattered on plush green,
Each a tiny island of forgotten thread.
Some shimmer like silver moons,
Others dull from passing years,
Yet all invite a fleeting story to be spun.
