Cursor Editor Problem

Hi. I downloaded the editor for my son a few days ago. Things seemed to be going great until for some reason, whenever we try to create a new cursor with 'New Static Cursor' the editor opens and the entire editor is blank, just grey with no tools, no toolbars or anything, just the titlebar that says 'RealWorld Cursor Editor'. I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, and it worked once until after I opened the create animated cursor window. Then when I went back to create or open a static cursor, it was back to a blank RealWorld Cursor Editor window. Doesn't work even if I try to open any of the cursors delivered with the software. Any suggestions? I want to make a donation, but if I can't get the software to work my son will be disappointed. Help will be appreciated. Thanks.

One possible reason for this behavior is damaged configuration. To fix the configuration, shut down the application and either delete registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RealWorld\CursorEditor\Designer or run the application with /reset switch (-> "C:\Program Files\RealWorld Cursor Editor\RWCursorEditor.exe" /reset).
Please let me know if that helped or not. Such errorneous behavior may also be caused be an unexpected conflict with other software. Do you have any software that modifies look or functionality of all windows?

Hi, Thank you! The reset switch resolved the problem. After running the reset switch, I worked with the cursor editor for a while, opening and closing different files, and creating new files, and everything seemed to be working fine. I couldn't get the problem to happen again. We do not have any software that modifes the look or functionality of Windows.
I was wondering if any graphic commands or settings used in the cursor editor might have caused a problem when a file was saved. Then when the editor tried to open any more files it read something it didn't like.

I am glad it was just this and nothing more serious.
The commands Tools->Layout Management and Tools->Configure Layout allow you to modify the built-in window layouts or create your own. A layout controls menu, toolbars and of course the windows you see on the screen. Changing values in the configuration dialogs can make the layouts unusable. Another cause might be a bug in the application (as always).

Hello, i downloaded RealWorld cursor editor, it all went fine for 3 days, until when i wanted to make a new animated cursor, it came up with a grey box. all the toolbars, but no editing feild. similar to the other person who has the problem with static cursors? can i do anything, or is it ment to do that?

no, it is meant to work without problems. Try the same fix that is described above. Please let me know if it helped or not. Did you try to modify the GUI layouts before the problem occured?

No, Ive tried the advice above, it dosent work, ive tried uninstalling it then reinstalling 2 times, im out of options

Did you try to delete the items in registry ? HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RealWorld\CursorEditor\Designer

That is the registry key to delete, but if you do not know how to delete it in regedit.exe, then please don't, it could be dangerous. Are you sure you have used the /reset switch correctly?

Hello there. I have a problem with using the realworld cursor editor. i tried to follow the tutorial i saw in the youtube on "how to put a circle around your cursor without using camstudio". i followed everything but it still doesn't work. do i need to download something else aside from realworld cursor editor, in order for it to work? thanks.

Hi, I have a problem. Whenever I try to make something from the shape/line (line, curve, polygon, ellipse, rectangle) tools button, it makes this line with purple ends and it fades the figure. How do I get rid of it? If it matters, I downloaded the portable version for my flashdrive.

...could it be that you have switched to a Radial gradient fill style? If so, return back to the original Solid fill by clicking a red square icon on the toolbar above the canvas.

I dragged the left tab all the way over to the right so now it covers the whole screen. When I try to drag it back, it selects the right tab (which is on top) instead. I can't see the cursor editing screen and getting out and getting back in doesn't help.

I have a problem; I've re-installed 3 times and reset once, and every time I try to make a new mouse cursor it opens the tools and everything but the screen to draw in is like a broken flash, I can't figure out why?

64-bit Windows? If yes, you'll have to wait a bit for a new version that fixes the problems.
