That is because Linux does not use .cur files, nor .ani files. Linux cursors don't have a file extension at the end of the filename.

i used these for MacOS cursors :-D (normal select black , black horizontal & vertical toolbar)

Nice port!!! I'd suggest porting the v3 normal link selects, black and white respectively.
