That is because Linux does not use .cur files, nor .ani files. Linux cursors don't have a file extension at the end of the filename.
Hackneyed (Reloaded) Cursors
I found the sprite sheet from Google and converted the Linux cursors into Windows cursors. This is probably the best cursor set I have ever done. Enjoy!
