Yeah, you should not use * in a file name.

You can go to your portfolio page, in your case here, then click the "Individual cursors and icons" link a you'll see the list of uploaded cursors not yet placed in a set. You can click on the cursor, and go for example to this page. There you can click on the Modify link under the Download button and the description to change various thing including the name.
