Drive Letters Color

Published on December 4th 2008 by: Doc

Tired of all your drives looking the same dull gray and having to strain to read the letter underneath? Here is the answer. Every drive letter is coded to its unique color, and is imaged in high definition. For example, if your Memory Card reader drive is purple, who cares what letter it is?

Dear 'Doc': I see your comment above inviting requests (double-big smile) and so now, with hopes and a bit of 'pleading', I respectfully request the same identical (w/all colors) 'Drive Icon' to be made WITHOUT the alphas?? I'd be all of appreciative, grateful and extremely happy if you could grant my request herein ... PWEEEZE??!

[On a personal note: I'm completely in LOVE with this set for all you've included in originality, creativity and talent. But most of all, I love the QUALITY only you can include in creating an icon and would be ever so grateful if you could perform this blessing!??]

Kudos and God Bless ... Jacquie

When you say "without the alphas" do you mean you want them opaque?

Dear Doc:

Blessings in Christ and thank you for reply!!

I'm very grateful and appreciative for your interest in my request but, am unsure of the 'icon definition' of 'opaque'!? Aren't these 'opaque icons'? Oh Dear!? [I thought 'opaque' meant solid, not transparent, etc.]

On a personal note, I had a stroke a while back, and altho a legal secretary 25+ years, now it's VERY difficult for me to 'put my thoughts on paper'. Altho I 'thought' my original email was clear, I can see now the area of concern and apologize!

I'll try again, but also ask you to note: In addition to a 'written explanation', I ask YOU to perform a simple physical exercise [described below], hoping any fog is lifted!? [Smile!?]

First, the written [eek]:

Altho the BEST PART of your Drive Icon Set [in my opinion] is all of the quality, detail and attention given each,...

THE BEST-EST BEST PART of this set are the 15 COLOR DESIGNATIONS created for each [with a silent wish for more - smile]!!

With that said, I am requesting an IDENTICAL SET [COLORS INCLUDED] and ONLY ONE CHANGE ... REMOVING THE 'ALPHA [aka LETTER] FRAME' now positioned at the top of each Drive Icon.

NOW ... IF YOU COULD 'HUMOR A 58 YR OLD WOMAN' [smile], AND IN ORDER TO SEE MY REQUEST:

On your computer screen, place your 'thumb' on top of an Alpha Letter Frame using any of the Drive Letter Icons pictured above. By performing this 'exercise' [smile], I hope you'll see exactly what I'd like you to create ... i.e., the same DRIVE using the same COLORS ... but 'without the alpha letter frame' currently positioned at the top of each icon!??

Whew!! Smile!! I do hope I haven't confused you more!? EEK!!

Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart ... with important emphasis of thanks for your 'patience' in the review of this reply!! Smile!

You're great!

God Bless - Jacquie

OK, so you want the drive letter and its square frame removed. So, there will be a set of unlettered drives in the same 26 colors as above. I will upload them as soon as the Administrator makes more room in the data base, which is now close to full and won't allow us to upload new icons for a while.

Dear Doc:

Blessings in Christ ... Smile!

THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU!! You've made an 'old gal' (smile) very happy!!! I've got a very BIG smile on my face right now! You are really terrific and I can't thank you enough!! I hope you know how good you really are (smile)!!

I'll keep my eyes open for the DL (smile); but, in the meantime, should I think of an 'icon idea' (not all that likely (smile), but ya never know) ... how might I make contact with you to send an attachment jpeg, etc. of whatever that idea may be?!

Just thought I'd ask (smile)!

Again ... THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

It's still not accepting uploads, but I'll keep trying. I guess we're supposed to use this format for new ideas, since we don't want spin-off designers all over the place. If you have an image, then just list the web site here, like the Halo 3 author did.

OK...it's done. Check out set #87, "Drives In Color." I hope it's what you all had in mind.

Doc ...

Blessings in Christ ... SMILE!

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING!!

I was so excited to find this set already uploaded!! [I thought it might be a month or more!?]

I just PEEKED and was unable to contain myself!! I began cheering and waving my arms around in mid-air as tho 'cheering a football team to victory'! This set is all I wished for and MORE!! But then, your abilities and attention to detail are well proven!! Smile!!

I'M A VERY HAPPY CAMPER!! WOW!!

But now, I confess 'ignorance' at your instruction re future 'brainstorms'!? You indicate should I wish to share an image, to do as Halo 3 did??

After reviewing Halo 3, the only link I see directs one to his personal profile containing links for all sets he's created in past.

IS THAT WHAT YOU MEAN??

And if so, am I to copy/paste the image's 'webpage link' into my profile and afterwards send a Comment alerting you to same?

Finally, HOW do I post a if only a pic saved to my computer - obviously no link?! EEK!

I'm so in love with the quality of your work and respectively request you might be willing to provide me with email addy for future 'brainstorms'?!

I'd could 'temporarily' post my email addy into my profile just long enough for you to retrieve and afterwards, send me an email, automatically giving me access to your email addy?

PLEASE keep in touch and thank you a million times over!! You're a very talented and special person!!
