Clone brush tool

rsrc/clone-tool.png image CLONE_BRUSH is a conjunction of two drawing tools (Clone and Brush) and can be used to copy parts of an image to a different place in the same image.

How to use the Clone brush

See the clone tool in action in the cloning tutorial.

Since the tool copies content from one place to a different place in the image, you must specify both of these places before the operation can be completed.

There are two modes of operation: absolute and relative mode.

In relative mode, position your mouse over the spot that needs fixing. Press and hold the CTRL key and move your mouse to a place where you would want to copy from. Click and release the CTRL key. Finally, get back to the first spot and then start paining over it just like you would with the Brush tool.

In absolute mode, hold down the CTRL key and click on a place, where you would like to copy content from. Then release the CTRL key and move to a spot that needs fixing and start paining over it just like you would with the Brush tool.
