Rewards for securing your account

Creating an account on rw-designer is a gentle, multi-step process. People can do many things without having an account at all - downloading icons and cursors, playing games, chatting and creating threads in the off-topic forum. People can post comments and reviews in most places by just picking their desired nick name. And so on...
When it comes to securing their accounts, people have 2 options. They can either set a password (and use it together with their account id to log-in) or they can specify their email. The email can then be used to generate one-time login links or to recover your password. If the email is verified (you have clicked a link in the email you have received), it can also be used to receive personalized news.
The slight downside of this non-forcing system is that many people do not bother securing their account and lose access to it. Hence, from now on, there will be these rewards:
- You receive 5 buttons when you set-up your password for the first time.
- You receive 5 buttons when you verify your email (and lose 5 buttons when you change your email and do not verify the new one).
People, who have already verified their email or had their passwords set up (and logged-in during the last year), have received the buttons retroactively.
Also, to prevent manipulation (creating many new accounts and sending buttons to your main account), new accounts with low karma are now not allowed to send items via PM and to buy items on the flea market.
