Published by on April 11th 2016.

You may or may not have noticed that latest builds of RealWorld Paint and RealWorld Icon Editor are available from their respective home pages. If you are curious, you can download and test them at any time.

I am also occasionally posting videos, where I demonstrate some of the new features. There are 2 videos so far:

Feedback is as always welcome.

I really like the union etc. features. I can think they would be helpful in making logos. I wish this were extended to entire layers. A layer's result is decided by comparing it to a "mask" layer, that is unioned, subtracted etc. with it.

I know what you mean, although there is the Silhouette blending operation for layers, the layering system is too simple and the mask applies to all layers below, which is mostly useless. Either each layer would have to get a separate mask, or more powerful layering system would be needed.

The layer stack article is one of the most interesting things I've read on the internet. It seems really cool. Thank you for taking the time to write it. By the way I believe it is technically called reverse polish notation.

:-( Hi, Will there be any 64bit versions of RWpaint?
Because I've had problems working with very large images several times, in the 64bit version of IconEditor I do not have this problem, I can open extremely large images without difficulty in iconEditor64bit ...

Well, there could be, but 32-bit Photoshop plug-ins would not work with it.

I've never used Photoshop plugins, I could have the 64bit version available. For me for example, is better the 64bit than photoshop plugin,
Many and many times I had trouble, when creating large images, and long gifs, I imagine an others people too should have had this problem
I accept without the slightest problem, Sacrificing photoshop plugins for get better performance.

You can grab the a 64-bit RWPaint here: http://download.rw-designer.com/latest/RWPaint64.zip
Note that also the downloadable plug-ins are currently only working with the 32-bit version.

RWIE v2016.1 is the most current--yes? The one at the main download location (linked in blog post above) seems to be an older version.
