The downloaded version is better, and it's still free. You can also make animated cursors (.ani) with that one. And the best part is it also has a portable version so you don't have to install anything :-D!
It's most likely the .ico file format. Actually, that's the only thing that works for this. And by the way this is awesome I enjoy using this π.
